The National Defense University (NDU) educates military and civilian leaders through teaching, research, and outreach in national security strategy, national military strategy, and national resource strategy; joint and multinational operations; information strategies, operations, and resource management; acquisition; and regional defense and security studies.

The mission of the College of International Security Affairs (CISA) at NDU is to educate and prepare civilian and military national security professionals and future leaders from the United States and partner nations for the strategic challenges of the contemporary security environment. CISA is the Department of Defense flagship for education and the building of partnership capacity in combating terrorism and irregular warfare at the strategic level. CISA prepares students for high-level policy and command and staff responsibilities through a graduate, interagency, and joint professional military education program.

This is a Title 10 Excepted Service Appointment. Appointment not to exceed 3 years with the possibility for extension.

Manages and evolves an NDU graduate program, with responsibility for budget, personnel, facilities, and partnering with NDU components Builds and sustains parnerships with agencies throughout the U.S. government Directs the College's education and training activities Supervises curriculum development, institutional research, and program accreditation of the NDU Master of Arts degree in Strategic Security Studies Participates actively and constructively as a member of the NDU faculty Oversees the NDU's International Counterterrorism Fellowship program Leads the allocation of human and financial resources and is responsible for strategic planning behind the College's near- and long-term priorities Supports NDU interagency programs for national security professional development Performs other duties as assigned

Significant professional/operational experience in dealing with threats and challenges in the contemporary security environment Experience teaching and advising adult learners with military, law enforcement, and national security backgrounds Experience with regionally accredited graduate-level professional academic programs Experience with Joint Professional Military Education

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Occasional travel may be required Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance
