What's at stake in this election... besides an evening with George Clooney?

In my opinion, this election is about whether each of us is on his or her own in dealing with globalization.  Or is the United States of America still "one nation under God" with the will and power to mediate between its citizens and the raw, uncaring power of globalization?

This, I think, is the stark choice we are offered in November.  I personally opt for a federal government that cares for its citizens and is willing to fight for them... a government that believes that certain basics, such as health care and housing and education, should be universally available to all Americans... a government that is not enamored to global capitalism because its chief executive made hundreds of millions by profiteering from that system.

If you agree, then I suggest you support President Obama and the Democratic party... whether or not you get to meet George Clooney. --- JOC

James --

By pitching in $5 or whatever you can before tomorrow's fundraising deadline, you won't just be automatically entering yourself for the chance to spend an evening with President Obama at George Clooney's house -- you'll also be strengthening this organization at a critical time, right as the general election kicks off.

Why wouldn't you give it a shot?

We're paying for airfare and accommodations -- and you can invite a guest, too. The deadline's tomorrow, so there's really no reason not to throw your name in the hat now.

Thanks,

Rufus
