University of Pittsburgh plagued by a rash of bomb threats

Threats began on February 13th:

In mid-April a transgender couple, highly outspoken on transgender issues, was subpoenaed by a grand jury to be questioned about the threats:

The couple insisted they are innocent:

Saturday night, a group calling themselves "The Threateners" took credit for the threats:

"The Threateners" is a 1992 spy novel, the 26th in the Matt Helm series by Donald Hamilton:

Following the email sent by "The Threateners," Pitt withdrew its offer of a $50,000 reward:

Note that the group only claimed responsibility for threats after March 30, not back to February 13th.

"The Threateners" now say their threats are at an end, since Pitt met their demand, i.e., withdrawal of the reward:

Is this strange saga really over?  Will anyone ever be caught and punished for either the first or these second wave of threats?

We all just have to stay tuned, I guess.
