Will the five conservative Justices overrule Roe v. Wade?

They heard a case this week that opens the door.  And they have proven themselves willing to go beyond even what the petitioners asked for… in Citizens United and other significant cases.

“I think we are at a potential turning point: Either access to abortion will be dramatically restricted in the coming year or perhaps the pushback will begin.” – Suzanne Goldberg, Columbia University
Jim,
When I read that quote in The New York Times I almost spit up my coffee. ‘Dramatic restrictions’ on a woman’s right to choose, enacted in all 50 states? That’s exactly what Republican governors are aiming to do if we allow them to win in 2014.
Just look what Republicans did after making big gains in the states in 2010: They passed over 200 anti-choice bills in statehouses in 30 states over the last three years. These included some of the worst laws we’ve ever seen: forced ultrasound bills, restrictions on access to birth control and measures that undermine Roe v. Wade.
Fortunately, the DGA has a plan to stop the spread of these anti-women laws in 2014.
We’re teaming up with Emily’s List to say ‘no’ to Republicans’ attacks on women’s rights. Will you stand with us?

The DGA knows how to win the races that really matter. During the last election cycle, we won eight out of nine competitive governors’ races. We’re proud to be working with Emily’s List, one of the most effective national organizations when it comes to supporting pro-choice female candidates.
Together, we’re helping great female Democratic candidates – like Texas’ Wendy Davis and Wisconsin’s Mary Burke – beat their anti-choice Tea Party opponents.
Will you join our campaign to tell Republican governors to stop the attacks on women?
Sincerely,
Elisabeth Pearson
Democratic Governors Association
