MOOCs for credits: An idea whose time has not yet come

As I reported here last year, students are not taking advantage of opportunities --- where they exist --- to convert MOOCs into college credits.  The American Council on Education now has announced that its experimental effort in this direction has so far fizzled.  The head of the effort claims lack of publicity.
