The bigger issue, now, is who's next.

The Church's stronghold is Latin America.  It's biggest growth market is Africa.  Will the College of Cardinals have the good sense to select someone from either South America or Africa?

The word on the street is that the Italians are back in the ascendency.  But they will be short sighted, indeed, if they go with one of their own.

America has a black president.  Isn't it time theVatican had a black pope?
