Teller’s Committee Report

Re: Election Results of the 2011 ACJS Election.

This is the second time that the election for ACJS Executive Board officers was conducted using an internet service.  ACJS contracted with Votenet Solutions to orchestrate the 2010 elections as well as the 2011 elections.  The committee cannot evaluate the veracity of the results supplied to us from Votenet Solutions, but the total number of votes cast for Second Vice President  is similar to the number of votes cast last year for that same position.  In addition, the closest results were for the position of Second Vice President. This was very similar to last year’s election.  The committee (of members in good standing) communicated via the internet.  Each member logged on to Votenet Solution’s web site, recorded the number of votes received by each candidate and identified the winner of the election. The tally committee members are Richard R. Bennett of the American University; Stephanie Mizrahi of California State University, Sacramento; Brandon Applegate, University of South Carolina; Robert Worley of Texas A&M University Central Texas and Melissa W. Burek of Bowling Green State University.

The following are the committee-certified results of the election:

2nd Vice President:
Brian Payne (elected)
Barbara A. Sims

Trustee-at-Large:
Eric G. Lambert
Philip L. Reichel (elected)

The one regional election had the following result:

Region 4 Trustee:
David R. Montague (elected)

The committee is happy to submit this report to the Past and Present Presidents of ACJS.  With this memo, we have executed our duties and disbanded the committee.  I wish to thank the four other committee members for their service to ACJS.

Sincerely,

Richard R. Bennett
Chair of the Tellers Committee of ACJS
