A survey of online learners

Dear James Ottavio,

We're excited to announce our new monthly survey of prospective online learners: the Aslanian e-Learning poll. We're surveying prospective students from eLearners.com to learn who they are, what they want, what their personal views are about online learning, how they select schools, and other topics of interest to schools that want to attract them.

Here's an overview of what we learned in May, 2011:

• Prospective online learners are most often women in their mid 30's.
• They are seeking skills and credentials for career transitions - to advance in their jobs, change their jobs, and keep up with their jobs.
• They are interested in degree programs and are equally split between seeking undergraduate and graduate degrees.
• Half have never taken an online course, but a large majority of them have a Facebook profile.

You can read more about the Aslanian e-Learning poll on our website. And be sure to bookmark the page because it will contain new poll data every month. There is also a place for you to suggest new questions for the poll.

We can conduct a customized research study to help your institution better understand, program for, and market to prospective online learners in your region. Contact us today about designing a study for you.

Sincerely,

Carol B. Aslanian,
